“Lost City” presentation, May 12th

Celebrating National History Month in May

Quilting & Sewing Bee - March 20th

On Saturday, March 20th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Maplewood Historical Society is hosting a quilting bee at the farmhouse at Bruentrup Heritage Farm, in Maplewood (this is the third event in the series, the first two were held in November and January).

Bruentrup Farm Honored as Barn of the Year

Every year, the Friends of Minnesota Barns (FOMB) holds its Barn of the Year Award contest to highlight barn owners who have preserved their Minnesota barns. This year FOMB received 61 entries from 36 Minnesota counties. In the last 2 years, they have received entries from 51 Minnesota counties. The contest is a great success since one of the goals was to reach outstate barn owners with the barn preservation message of FoMB.

Christmas at the Farm - Open House

Join us as we celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas, at this annual holiday event.  The historic farmhouse at Bruentrup Heritage farm will be decorated festively, and everyone is invited to come enjoy plenty of coffee and punch, along wih sweet treats, in the dining room.

The Maplewood Area Historical Society is working to develop exhibits and activities that explain and interpret the community, civic and agricultural history of Maplewood.
We are looking for people who are interested in history who are long-term residents of Maplewood or newcomers to the community.

Quilting & Sewing Bee - January 23

On Saturday, January 23rd, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Maplewood Historical Society is hosting a quilting bee at the farmhouse at Bruentrup Heritage Farm, in Maplewood (this is the second event in the series, the first having been held in November).
Because of the high amount of interest from attendees in needlework (besides quilting), it was decided that needlework would also be featured in addition to quilting, since there was some interest from folks in that area. Quilters and anyone into needlework (including crocheting, stitching) are welcome to attend.

The purpose of the Bruentrup Heritage Farm is to preserve and tell the story of farming and farm life in the township of New Canada, and later in the City of Maplewood.
The Bruentrup Heritage Farm is located at 2170 County Road D, between White Bear Avenue and McKnight Road. The farm occupies about 3.5 acres of a 32-acre open space site that is owned by the City of Maplewood. The …
