Thanks for the comment, Carolyn!

I agree that this is a fun way for kids to experience the things done at farms back in the old days.

Johnny Appleseed Day is always a fun time for everyone to experience a landscape that has some time ago disappeared. Dairy farms similar to the Bruentrup Farm were a common sight in most of Ramsey County, and now this farm is the only complete set of dairy farm buildings remaining. Come join us in experiencing this brief time on our historical 120 year old farm and see the exhibits of various times in the life of this farm, along with "hands on" experience of milking a cow, feeding farm animals, riding on the wagon pulled by a tractor out onto the prairie (pasture as it used to be called), and much more.

I was at the farm a couple summers ago for a special function.

There was a hay ride from parking at the Salvation Army to the farm. The ladies of the Historical Society were giving tours of the house, and all were in period dress as were some entertainers outside.

The City Council's own Will Rossbach was serving apple cider!

It was great family fun, and a great reminder of just how far back Maplewoods roots truly go.
